Gmail Data Freeze

Google is now limiting your data storage inside Gmail, Photos, and Google Drive to 15GB offering an additional subscription through Google One. This has caused some chaos to those who have had their google accounts for years and even more of an impact to small businesses.

This change only affects about 20% of overall users however it may push some Gmail clients into going with other options like Office 365. Google profits have slowly been eroding as they move the majority of their systems into the cloud without any benefit of increased revenues.

Relying on the additional revenue from Google One, Google is hoping to close this gap. However with several other options out on the market is this the right decision to go down?
